My neighbor Wende inspired me to try these refrigerator pickles. I grabbed a basic recipe, and added the extras. This is another example of an easy food that you just won't want to buy in the store again. Makes such a cute presentation in their little jars...you'll want to share with friends!
Wende had a great little "pickle party" where we enjoyed food, wine, and made pickles! It was a great little idea for a gathering.
Wash and dry your Ball jars.
In a large pot over medium-high heat, combine the vinegar, water, and pickling salt. Bring to a boil. This is your brine. Let cool, just so it's not piping hot.
In the bottom of each jar, add a good amount of dill, 1-2 garlic cloves, some jalapenos, and black peppercorns.
Cut your pickles however you wish, and add them to the jars, packing tightly. Top with more dill.
Pour in your brine that's been cooled, almost to the top. Seal the jars, but be sure to wipe the rims of any brine first.
Place in the fridge, and these will be ready in about 4-5 days!

I'm going to have to make these with Trevor. He's a pickle freak and wanted to buy some pickling cukes at the market a few weeks ago. I didn't realize it was so easy.
They just look so fresh! I love dill.
My pickle loving daughter would be so happy if I made these for her. Nicely done you domestic goddess.
