Summer

Summer is having a strange effect on me. I'm not thinking about cooking right now, and I'm pretty sure it's due to the heat.

When I do cook, it's quick meals that I don't bother recording because, well, I'm just trying to get the belly full.  But I did take pics! I didn't totally get lazy on you.

Here's some stuff I made, then ate:

A ribeye from Lindenhof Farm and some clams I grilled.

And here's a Puttanesca Pasta I whipped up on one of our 100-degree days. You can bet I was 2 seconds from an Italian temper tantrum, too...

Taquitos and Chimichangas make me happy...

On the national news they showed a bank sign in DC showing 108. I can't imagine how miserable that is. That would take the joy out of cooking most days.

Why oh why aren't you my neighbor? Clams and a ribeye? Taquitos and chimichangas? Now that is my kind of food! It's finally cooling down here in Portland this week... I can't stand the heat and humidity.

Thank you so much for my b-day wishes on FB.

Do you know how unfair to read your blog and not be able to taste your food?

Clams on the grill? I'd never thought of that! Clams are one of my favorite foods and what a good way to avoid cooking in "Hell's Kitchen" too!
